Sweet and Sour Meatballs

This is another great England recipe that my mom loved to make.  We would also make sweet and sour pork out of it.  These freeze well for later also.  If you don't want too much tang, cut down the vinegar.  Also, don't replace cracker crumbs with bread crumbs, I tried it and it just wasn't the same.

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 cup cracker crumbs (Ritz or saltines)
1 tsp salt
dash pepper
1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup vinegar
1 1/2 Tbsp Worchestire sauce
1/2 cup catsup
3 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
Pineapple chunks
Cornstarch (optional-depending on desired thickness of sauce)

Directions:
Combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, milk, salt and pepper and form into balls.  Place in 8X8 pan.  Mix together remaining ingredients in a bowl then cover meatballs with sauce.  Bake uncovered 1 hour at 350 degrees.  Serve over cooked rice.  Serves 4-5.  If you double sauce, don't double vinegar, it's too strong.
